Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits

Buttermilk Biscuits


How to Prepare

2 ½ cups of Flour 

1 ½ cups of Milk

1 stick of Butter

1 Egg 

2 tsp Baking powder


2 tbsp of Brown Sugar

  1. Crack 1 egg and place it in a small dish. Mix with a fork. 
  2. Take the other egg and crack it into another small dish.
    1. 1 egg will be used to make the biscuit, the other will be used later as a coating. 
  3. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. 
  4. In a large bowl, pour in the flour and the baking powder. Mix together. 
  5. Mix in the dash of nutmeg to the flour mix. 
  6. Add in the brown sugar so it is fully incorporated. 
  7. Add in the egg and the butter. Mix until it’s a sticky dough.
    1. Mix for approximately 5 minutes. 
  8. Pour the milk into the dough and mix with a wooden spoon. 
    1. If the mixture is too wet, add some flour to it.
    2. The mix should be dry, but sticky and the butter should not be melted into it. 
  9. Flour a surface and drop the dough on top of the floured surface. 
  10. Roll the dough into an inch thickness.
