Bruschetta Treat for Breakfast

How to Prepare

  1. Preheat a grill or griddle.

  2. Slice the bread into slices that are just under half an inch thick.

  3. Brush olive oil liberally on both sides of the bread slices.

  4. Sprinkle a light amount of salt and black pepper on both sides of the bread slices.

  5. Place the bread slices on the grill or griddle and cook until they are grilled and slightly crispy. Flip them over to cook both sides evenly.

  6. Remove the grilled bread slices from the grill and set them aside on a plate.

  7. Cut the fall fruits (apples and pears) into large slices, about a quarter inch thick. Leave the skin on.

  8. Place the fruit slices on the grill or griddle and cook them until they are lightly caramelized and softened. Be careful not to overcook them.

  9. Remove the grilled fruit slices from the grill and set them aside on a plate.

  10. Spread a generous amount of mascarpone cheese on each grilled bread slice.

  11. Arrange the grilled fruit slices on top of the mascarpone cheese.

  12. Drizzle honey over the fruit-topped bread slices.

  13. Serve the bruschetta immediately as a delicious breakfast or snack.
