Pizza Margherita

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of Vito and Joe’s Olive Oil

  • 1 ½  tbsp. Sugar

  • 1 tbsp. Salt

  • 2 cups Warm Water

  • 2 packets Yeast

  • ¼ cup White Wine

  • 5 cups of flour

  • Flour

Toppings:

  • Pizza

  • Sauce

  • Mozzarella (Strained)

  • Spinach

  • Basil

How to Prepare

  1. Activate Yeast, in a medium size mixing bowl, Stir both packets of Yeast into Warm Water

  2. Mix Sugar

  3. Let it then sit for about 5 minutes

  4. In a large mixing bowl, add the Flour, Salt and Vito and Joe’s Olive Oil

  5. Add the White Wine to the Flour mixture and mix with a flat-bottomed Wooden Spoon

  6. Make a well in the Flour and add in the Yeast mixture

  7. Mix with the Spoon until it has an elastic consistency

  8. Sprinkle Flour on a counter top and work the dough with your hands

  9. Make sure it is not watery by adding Flour when necessary

  10. Continue to knead until the dough is almost tacky

  11. Add some Vito and Joe’s Olive Oil in the mixing bowl

  12. Move the dough to the Olive Oil covered mixing bowl and move around until it is covered in oil

  13. Cover the bowl and let it rest at room temperature until it doubles in size

  14. Between 2 - 3 hours

  15. Cover the Mozzarella with saran wrap and strain in sink

  16. set oven to 500 degrees

  17. Place a pizza stone inside the oven

  18. Dust the countertop with Flour and place the dough on top

  19. Cut it into 3 equal pieces with a baker’s knife

  20. Spread each into the desired shape (Circular or Rectangular)

  21. Pinch the edges for a crust

  22. Push any tears or breaks back together

  23. Let it set for 15 - 20 minutes

  24. Take out pizza stone from oven and dust it with Cornmeal or Flour

  25. Place the dough on top

  26. Spread Vito and Joe’s Olive Oil on the dough

  27. Cover the pizza with sauce

  28. Place in the back of oven for 7-10 minutes

  29. Cut up the Mozzarella into slices

  30. Carefully remove the stone and add Mozzarella, Basil and Spinach

  31. Place pizza back in oven for 5 - 8 minutes

  32. Do not cook for more then 15 minutes total
