Italian Goombah Cheeseburger

Ingredients

How to Prepare

   Ground beef (80/20) (3 lbs.)

   Ciabatta

   Eggs (large) (3 –whisked)

   Garlic (1 large clove)

   Arugula (as a topping)

   Salt

   Mozzarella (fresh – sliced)

   Parmesan and Romano cheese mix (1 cup)

   Aioli (50/50 marinara and mayonnaise)

   Freshly ground black pepper

   Vito & Joe’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    

 

Steps:
  1. Slice the loaf of ciabatta into quarters and the slice in half. 
  2. Drizzle the ciabatta with Vito & Joe’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  3. Salt and pepper the ciabatta to taste. 
  4. Toast or grill the ciabatta.
    1. Rub with the garlic clove.
    2. Set aside. 
  5. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, cheese, eggs, freshly ground black pepper (to taste), 1 tablespoon of salt and a ¼ cup of Vito & Joe’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil. 
    1. Mix until all the ingredients are all incorporated. 
  6. Form the meat and cheese mixture into patties.
  7. Grill patties on one side and then flip. 
    1. While the second side is grilling, lay 2 slices of fresh mozzarella on each burger.
    2. Loosely cover with foil so the cheese can melt while the burger is cooking. 
  8. Serve the burger on the toasted ciabatta and top with aioli and arugula. Enjoy!
