Orange Bread Cake with Glaze

Ingredients

Cake/Bread Ingredients:

  • All Purpose Flour (1 3/4 cup)

  • Baking Powder (3 tsp.)

  • Sugar (1 1/4 cup)

  • Eggs (3 whole)

  • Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)

  • Salted Butter(5 1/2 tbsp.)

  • Greek Yogurt (1/3 cup)

  • Orange (1 whole)

Glaze Ingredients:

  • Powdered Sugar (1 3/4 Cup)

  • Butter (1 tsp., melted)

  • Orange Extract (1 tsp.)

  • Orange Juice (1/4 cup)

  • Orange Zest (1 tbsp.)

How to Prepare

Cake/Bread:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F

  2. Line your pan with parchment paper.

  3. Microwave the butter for about 30 seconds.

  4. Combine flour, baking powder, and sugar to your mixing bowl and stir. Then create a well in the mixing bowl.

  5. Crack your 3 eggs and mix them in a separate bowl.

  6. Add the eggs, vanilla, and yogurt to the center of the well.

  7. Cube your orange and add it to your food processor or blender. Turn the blender on and blend until the orange is pureed.

  8. Add the orange puree into the well and slowly stir from the middle of the well. Slowly add the butter and finish mixing the batter.

  9. Let the batter sit for 15-30 minutes.

  10. Transfer the batter into your pan and bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes.

  11. Let the cake cool for 15 minutes

  12. After the cake/bread has cooled add the glaze on top.

  13. Enjoy!

Glaze:

  1. Microwave the butter until melted.

  2. Cut your orange into quarters and juice the sections until you have 1/4 cup. Add the juice to your mixing bowl.

  3. Add the orange extract, butter, and powdered sugar to the mixing bowl. Slowly mix this mixture.

  4. Zest your orange over the mixing bowl and stir.
