Grilled Cheese

How to Prepare

   Ciabatta bread

   Romano cheese (4 -5 slices)

   Fontina cheese (4 -5 slices)

   Butter (2 tbsp.)

   Fresh ground black pepper

   Sea salt

Vito & Joe’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  1. Slice the ciabatta in half like a hamburger bun.
  2. Slice notches in the top of the top piece and the underside of the bottom piece.
  3. Fan each piece out (like an accordion) and drizzle Vito & Joe’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil on both sides.
  4. Sprinkle with some salt and pepper.
  5. Heat a cast-iron pan on a stovetop.
  6. Toast both sides of each piece of bread.
  7. Once, toasted, remove the bread slices from the pan.
  8. Place 1 tablespoon of butter in the pan.
  9. Spread the other tablespoon evenly on the bread.
  10. Place the bread back in the pan with the sliced sides (outsides) on the pan.
  11. Evenly place the Romano and fontina on the bottom slice.
  12. Place the top slice on the cheese.
  13. Cover the pan to help melt the cheese.
  14. Flip when browned.
  15. Cover and remove from the heat. Enjoy!
