Strawberry Tiramisu

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup strawberry jam

  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

  • 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 cups sliced strawberries

  • Assorted berries (optional)

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese

  • 24-28 ladyfingers

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • Prosecco or Pellegrino (for dipping ladyfingers)

  • Vito and Joe’s Olive oil (optional, for serving)

How to Prepare

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and nutmeg. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the strawberry jam and balsamic vinegar until well combined. Set aside.

  3. Prepare the sliced strawberries and any other berries you'd like to use.

  4. Dip each ladyfinger into the Prosecco or Pellegrino briefly, making sure not to soak them completely. Place the dipped ladyfingers on a plate or baking dish.

  5. Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top of the soaked ladyfingers.

  6. Drizzle a layer of the strawberry jam mixture over the mascarpone layer.

  7. Repeat the layers of soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and strawberry jam until you've used all the ingredients, finishing with a layer of mascarpone on top.

  8. Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar using a fine-mesh sieve.

  9. Garnish with sliced strawberries, assorted berries, and lemon zest.

  10. Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the ladyfingers to soften.

  11. Serve chilled, optionally drizzling a little olive oil over each portion before serving for added flavor.
