World’s Best Homemade Nutella Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw hazelnuts

  • 1.5 tablespoons high-quality vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup milk (or a non-dairy alternative like almond milk)

  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk

  • 1/3 cup turbinado sugar (or other sugar of your choice)

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How to Prepare

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Spread the raw hazelnuts evenly on a baking sheet.

  3. Roast the hazelnuts in the preheated oven for about 8-9 minutes until they become fragrant and slightly browned. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

  4. Remove the hazelnuts from the oven and allow them to cool for about 10 minutes.

  5. Once the hazelnuts have cooled slightly, rub them between paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to remove the skins. Discard the skins.

  6. Place the peeled hazelnuts in a food processor.

  7. Add the salt, turbinado sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and evaporated milk to the food processor with the hazelnuts.

  8. Blend all the ingredients together in the food processor until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. This may take a few minutes. If it's too thick, you can add a little more milk as needed.

  9. Taste the homemade Nutella and adjust the sweetness or thickness to your preference by adding more sugar or milk if necessary.

  10. Once you're satisfied with the flavor and texture, transfer the homemade Nutella to an airtight container or jar.

  11. Store the Nutella in the refrigerator for up to a few weeks.

Enjoy your homemade Nutella on toast, pancakes, waffles, or as a dip for fruits and other snacks!
